The Global Refugee Crisis: reframing the conversation; responding to the issues

This event is an opportunity to be further educated and informed on the global refugee crisis, and will include a panel discussion and interactive Q&A. In addition, a number of organizations will be present, providing opportunities to engage with the refugee crisis both locally and overseas.

Forum contributors and speakers:

Matthew Soerens is the co-author of Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis and currently serves with World Relief as U.S. Director of Church Mobilization.

Pastor Hanna Massad is pastor of the only Protestant church in Gaza and founder of Christian Mission To Gaza. More recently, his ministry has extended to serving more than a thousand Iraqi refugees living in Jordan, providing basic services and assistance.

Claudia Connor is the President & CEO of the International Institute of Connecticut. IICONN provides a variety of services to refugees, immigrants and survivors of human trafficking.

Drew Williams is Senior Pastor of Trinity Church in Greenwich and will share his heart to respond to this global crisis as well as bring a Biblical perspective to the refugee crisis.

Also present will be representatives from Building One Community in Stamford, a resource center for immigrants providing tools to educate and employ immigrants within the community.
