Care and community are at the heart of what it means to be a church. It takes the Holy Spirit in all of us to create an authentic community known for how we care for one another. Jesus said: “This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other” (John 13:35, The Message). That kind of love comes from experiencing Jesus’ love for us, and it becomes a beacon to the world around us.
In the Care & Community ministry of Trinity Church, we equip people to care for one another, take the lead in orchestrating various types of care, and provide opportunities for people to get away and be filled up with the Presence of God on retreats and at special events or gatherings locally, including First Loved to Love Weekend (Labor Day Weekend, up in Maine), the Men's Retreat (Sept. 22-24) and the Women's Retreat (Jan. 2018).
Take a look at our Trinity Care Ministries page on Facebook. It's a place for those serving in our Care Ministries or those in need of care to be encouraged, find resources and get updates on Care Ministries at Trinity.
Whatever the struggles we face in life, the wonderful thing about being part of a church family is that we don’t have to go through it alone! Here are a few of the ways we come alongside each other:
Prayer: Please visit the Prayer Support page to learn about receiving prayer on Sundays during the worship service, having a prayer request added to the confidential Prayer Chain, or requesting a healing prayer appointment.
Hospital or Homebound Visitation: We have a Care Team made up of trained prayer ministers (both staff and lay) who have pastoral gifting and have had additional training in visitation ministry and care. If you, or a loved one, will be in the hospital for a planned procedure, or if you are homebound while recovering, and would like a visit from someone on the Care Team, please call the church office at 203-618-0808 during Monday through Friday business hours or send a confidential email to CareTeam@trinitychurch.life.
Meal Ministry: Loving Spoonfuls Mission-Shaped Community is committed to caring for individuals and families when any hardship (or joy!) has made the worry of food preparation too much to think about. Contact: Meals@trinitychurch.life
Marriage Support or Ongoing Counseling: Trinity Church has a strong relationship with Greenwich Center for Hope and Renewal, a leading faith-based professional counseling and resource center. GCHR provides a private, confidential setting for five key services: counseling, interventions, renewal groups, educational seminars, and professional training. It is located at 237 Taconic Road, Greenwich, CT and can be reached at 203-340-9816.
If you have a specific need or any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Beth Bull, Care & Community Pastor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
