Our Pillars

Faith is about the foundations of our lives. It casuses us to ask the question: are the things that we are building on strong enough?

Our conviction is that these six pillars are crucial for building resilient faith as a church family.

Apprenticeship to Jesus

At Trinity this means being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what He did. Our heart is that would increasingly become the #1 defining characteristic of each person’s life and that it would permeate every sphere of our lives (family, school, work, community etc.).

Biblical Literacy

Our goal is to give us all the opportunity to better understand the authority and credibility of Scripture, as well as know how to study Scripture in an informed way, individually and together.

Spirit-Empowered Living

Our heart is that we would be a church where it’s seen as normal to desire and pursue God’s Presence. We want this to be a church where anyone who’s interested can learn how to pray for other people, listen for God’s voice, and feel equipped to live this out.

Care & Healing

Our dream is that every person who calls Trinity church home, along with their families would find people and resources here that can help in the path to healing.

Joining in God’s Mission

The Gospel compels us to move from reservoirs to rivers, leading to real impact in the world around us.We know that God, in Christ, is about restoring all things, and we get to play a part in that through Sharing, Serving, & Sending.

Committed Community

We want everyone at Trinity to have many opportunities to develop meaningful and lasting friendships. Not superficial, weak bonds, but bonds marked by authenticity, vulnerability, diversity, accountability, love and care for one another.

Our Beliefs

A church is a community of people who are learning what it means to follow Jesus, knowing we have a God who loves us exactly where we are and loves us far too much to let us stay there.

Trinity is a non-denominational church that believes in the authority of the Christian Scriptures for our life and practice. We hold to the essential orthodox Christian beliefs as expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed. In addition to these historic creeds, we are rooted in the following core beliefs:

We believe that there is one true God who has existed for eternity as three persons, the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4Matt. 28:19-20John 1:1-4 & 17:20-21)

We believe in the divine inspiration and absolute authority of the Bible which is the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct. (Is. 40:6-82 Tim. 3:162 Pet. 1:20)

We believe that God created people in His image, male and female, to share in His eternal life, worship Him and steward creation. (Gen. 1:27-30Deut 6:51 Cor. 10:31)

We believe that due to humanity’s rebellion against God (also known as sin), everyone has fallen short of the glory of God and is driven by their fallen nature and eternally separated from Him. (Gen. 3Is. 53:6Jer. 17:9Rom. 3:9-20)

We believe that God showed His great love for us by sending His son, Jesus Christ, in human form, through the incarnation, born of the virgin Mary. Jesus was without sin, fully God and fully human. (John 1:14 & 3:16Luke 1:27Phil. 2:5-72 Cor. 5:21Heb. 4:14-15)

We believe in the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross; paying the price of sin (separation from God), defeating evil and death, and reconciling us back with God. (John 3:5-8Heb.10:19-25Rom. 3:23-26Gal. 2:20Col. 1:13)

We believe that Jesus physically rose from the dead on the third day, and that He ascended to the Father’s right hand where He now reigns as the Savior of the world. (Mark 16:9John 11:25-26Eph. 1:20-21Phil. 2:9-11Rev. 11:15)

We believe that fallen humans are justified (restored to right relationship with God) through faith in this Savior, Jesus Christ. (Gal. 2:16Eph. 2:15-18Rom. 5:1 & 8:15)

We believe that God sent His comforter and guide, the Holy Spirit, who leads us into repentance. Life with Christ through new birth, empowers our Christian life, deepens our faith and enables us to witness to the world. (John 14:26 & 16:13Acts 1:8Rom. 5:5 & 8:26-272 Cor. 3:18)

We believe that God has established His people as the Church, His priesthood of all believers, who are empowered by the Holy Spirit through the impartation of spiritual gifts, who are called to proclaim the gospel, promote justice and live out His Kingdom life on earth. (Micah 6:8Luke 4:181 Cor. 121 Pet. 2:5)

We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfill the salvation plan of God, who will raise all people to judgement, and bring eternal life to the redeemed. God will then fully establish his Kingdom and reveal a new heaven and new earth in which there is no evil, suffering, or death, and in which God will be glorified forever. (Matt. 24:30 & 25:34Acts 17:31Rom. 8:19-211 Cor. 15:20-221 Thess. 4:142 Tim. 4:1Titus 2:131 Pet. 4:5Rev. 1:7 & 21:1-5)
