Updated COVID Guidelines for In-Person Services
Dear Trinity Church Family,
As pastors, we have been so encouraged to see the many ways in which our church family has exhibited the love of God and the fruit of the spirit as we have navigated the changing landscape of the COVID pandemic. Thank you!
Since March 2020, we have sought to follow state and local guidelines regarding our in-person gatherings, as well as the policies of our rented venues. As such we have an update based on revised guidance this week. Specifically, we have a reminder and a recommendation:
- Reminder: that those who are not fully vaccinated are required to wear a mask while attending in-person services. (As has been our policy since May).
- Recommendation: that anyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in public indoor spaces.
For those who feel most comfortable worshipping remotely, we remain committed to offering a high-quality livestream service, now coming from the Greenwich Hyatt each week.
No doubt, we had all hoped that new guidelines of this nature would not have been necessary, and as such we realize that they may evoke different feelings from each of us, including disappointment. For some there could be a sense that these steps are “too much” and for others that they are “too little”.
As apprentices of Jesus, we have an opportunity to model humility and self-giving love for one another (Philippians 2:18). Our witness is strengthened when this is lived out and weakened when it’s lacking. During this latest development in the pandemic, we invite every person who calls this church home to pursue the way of Jesus in our interactions with one another.
We continue to pray for the Lord’s guidance for us in the days ahead, and that we would be an example of a gracious, unified people even in the midst of differing viewpoints and perspectives. Thank you for the ways you have loved and served each other over the past months. By God’s grace, let us continue in that spirit of unity. We fully trust that God has great things ahead for this community.
Grace and Peace,
Ben Valentine, Christine Dorvil, Andy Hayball and, Jake Kircher
